Bannerman Island

In 1900, an arms dealer by the name of Frank Bannerman purchased a tiny island of rock in the Hudson River off the coast of Beacon, NY to transfer his volatile arms away from the populated centers in New York City.  The armories he built became known as Bannerman Castle.  Today it is gradually falling into decay but is still a great monument to the unbridled capitalist history of the Gilded Age.
