Sfroza Castle and Milano Centrale

Symbols of rule past and present.  Sfroza Castle was the 15th century fortress of the Duke of Milan and today houses the majority of Milan’s museums.  It is an incredible structure that communicates power and stability.   When Benito Mussolini came to power, he made similar monuments to his power. One such is Milano Centrale railway terminal.  This structure, completed in the early 30’s in deco styling fused with classical elements was meant to project the power of the fascist regime.   IMG_9070 IMG_8899 IMG_8901 IMG_8902 IMG_8903 IMG_8915 IMG_8919 IMG_8925 IMG_8926 IMG_8944 IMG_8959 IMG_8962 IMG_8965 IMG_8982 IMG_8984 IMG_8986 IMG_8989 IMG_8993 IMG_8996 IMG_9018 IMG_9023 IMG_9024 IMG_9027 IMG_9032 IMG_9035 IMG_9042 IMG_9044 IMG_9053 IMG_9058 IMG_9060 IMG_9064 IMG_9065 IMG_9066 IMG_9068 IMG_9069
